Goleta Bus Driver Sentenced for DUI Bus Crash

Earlier this week, a woman was sentenced to seven years in state prison in connection with a bus crash on Highway 101 that occurred last year. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the wreck happened near Los Alamos in January of 2019. There were about 25 passengers on the bus at the time of the crash. Prior to the crash, Laura Mae Gish, the driver allowed the vehicle to leave the roadway. It then hit a tree.

The bus flipped on its side during the wreck, and several people suffered from severe injuries. The driver initially reported having used methamphetamine the night before the crash. She entered a no-contest plea, and was sentenced to seven years in prison.
