Head-on Collision near Lake Cachuma Injures Three People

At least three people, including a toddler, were injured in a crash that happened on Highway 154 last week. Firefighters and first responders with Santa Barbara County were swiftly on the scene. The wreck, which happened west of Lake Cachuma, involved a Chevy Tahoe and a Dodge Caravan.

According to the Santa Maria Times, the Tahoe veered left and entered the westbound lane of 154, directly in front of the Caravan. The two vehicles collided head on. According to Fire Engineer Russ Sechler, the driver of the Caravan had to be extracted from the vehicle, and was immediately airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. The driver of the Tahoe and a three-year-old passenger were swiftly transported to the hospital by an ambulance. There is no word on the extent of injuries involved or the current conditions of the victims. This crash is likely still under investigation, as no information has been released on why the Tahoe veered into the westbound lane.
