High Speed Chase Ends in Crash in San Diego

Earlier this week, there was a high-speed chase and crash in the Pacific Beach area. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident started at about 1:15 a.m. near the Wendy’s on Grand Avenue. Apparently, two people smashed a window at Wendy’s and then got into their vehicle and drove away. Police officers on the scene pursued the pickup truck as it reached speeds as high as 100 miles per hour.

A police helicopter assisted during the chase. The truck was heading towards Interstate 8, when it made a left turn on Rosecrans Street and crashed into a center divider. The two people got out of the vehicle when it came to a stop at a nearby strip mall, but officers were quickly able to detain them. At this time, there has been no word on whether or not anybody was injured in this crash.
