On Friday a deadly crash involving three vehicles occurred in Saticoy on Highway 118. The accident occurred around 11:15 a.m. on the bridge passing over the Santa Clara River. One person was confirmed dead at the scene, two people were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries and one other was injured. The Ventura County Star reported on the accident and confirmed, the driver of a Chrysler 300 was traveling west behind a semitrailer. For reasons still under investigation, the Chrysler rear-ended the semi and then veered into the opposing lane of traffic. Upon veering into the opposing lane, the driver of the Chrysler then collided head-on into a Volvo. The driver of the Volvo was declared dead at the scene.
