Hit and Run Crash Injures Elderly Pedestrian

Last week, a 75-year-old man was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash in El Sereno. According to KTLA News Channel Five, the incident happened on Thursday night on Bullard Avenue, near Alhambra Avenue. Apparently, a white pickup truck struck the elderly pedestrian and then left the scene. The driver did initially stop and get out of his vehicle, but then, he got back in and left the scene.

On Saturday, the driver involved, 44-year-old Oscar Suarez, turned himself in to the L.A. Police Department’s Hollenbeck station in Boyle Heights. He was booked in jail on charges associated with the hit-and-run as well as for other warrants. At this time, no information has been released about the elderly man’s current condition or on the full extent of his injuries.
