Hit and Run Crash Injures Teen on Skateboard in Vermont Vista

Last week, a teen on a skateboard was injured when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in the Vermont Vista area of South L.A. According to KTLA News Channel Five, the incident happened at the intersection of West Colden Avenue and South Figueroa Street at about 6:10 p.m. on Friday night. Apparently, a driver that was going westbound on Colden Avenue struck the 18-year-old skateboarder and fled the scene.

The impact of the crash caused the teen to be thrown off of the skateboard and into the road. The driver didn’t stop or call for help. First responders rushed the injured teen to Harbor UCLA Medical Center in critical condition. Law enforcement officers are urging anybody with information about the hit-and-run driver to come forward.
