Hit and Run Crash Near Santa Barbara

On Sunday afternoon, a suspected hit-and-run driver had to be rescued near the scene of a crash on Highway 154. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened near Painted Cave Road. Very little information has been released about this crash, but we do know that a driver fled the scene of the collision and then became stuck down a steep embankment beside the roadway.

Initial reports indicate that a helicopter had to be brought in to hoist the man out of a ravine. The suspected hit-and-run driver was reportedly wanted on a no-bail warrant involving multiple DUI arrests. He was examined by paramedics on the scene and taken into custody by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department. This incident could still be under investigation with law enforcement officials.
