Hit-And-Run Crashes on Highway 101

Earlier this week, several vehicles were damaged in a series of hit-and-run crashes on Highway 101. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the wrecks happened on a stretch of the highway between Carpinteria and Montecito. Very little information has been released about this incident, but we do know that as many as 10 vehicles were struck by the hit-and-run driver before construction workers on Jameson Lane were able to detain the person.

Initial reports indicate that the wrecks began at about 8:00 a.m. and appeared to be deliberate collisions. After the wrecks, the truck was located on the right hand shoulder of the roadway near Olive Mill Road. There were injuries reported on the scene, and this incident is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
