Last week, a hit-and-run driver struck a power pole in Lompoc. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened in the 1000 block of North V Street. Very little information has been released about this crash, but we do know that the vehicle rolled over, and two people fled the scene. The impact of the crash snapped the power pole in half.

Initial reports indicate that the driver lost control of the vehicle and it hit a curb prior to striking the power pole and rolling over. Workers with the Lompoc Electric Division were dispatched to the scene to ensure safety in the area and to repair and replace the damaged power pole. At this time, the hit-and-run incident is still under investigation with law enforcement officers.
