I-5 Wrong-Way Driver Crash

Last weekend, there was an injury crash involving a wrong-way driver on Interstate Five. According to ABC San Diego News Channel Five, the wreck happened on Saturday afternoon in the southbound lanes of the Interstate, near State Route 905, in Otay Mesa West. Initial reports indicate that a red Honda Civic was headed north in a southbound lane when it struck a Toyota Tacoma. That collision caused at least four other vehicles to crash.

First responders rushed to the scene, where at least three people were injured, and passenger occupants may have needed assistance getting extricated from the wreckage. A portion of the roadway had to be closed as crews worked the scene. Debris was scattered across several lanes. At this time, no information has been released on whether or not any charges have been made in this case.
