On Friday afternoon, there was a head-on collision involving a cement truck on Highway 166 near Santa Maria. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the wreck happened in the Rockfront Ranch area, sometime before noon. Very little information has been released, but a van reportedly crossed the center line of the roadway and hit a cement truck head-on. The wreckage ended up about 50-80 feet from the roadway.

The driver of the van had to be airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. The cement truck driver was also injured in the crash, but there has been no word on anybody’s current condition. Additionally, a semi truck clipped the cement truck in an effort to avoid the collision.
