Earlier this week, a man was critically injured in a crash on Highway 101 near the bottom of Cuesta Grade. According to KSBY News Channel 6, the incident happened at about 6:25 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Very few details about this crash have been released, but initial reports indicate that a Toyota 4Runner suddenly crossed in front of another driver in the fast lane.

Although the other driver reportedly tried to stop, his vehicle hit the back of the Toyota. The Toyota rolled several times and went into the southbound lanes. The driver was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, and he was ejected from the vehicles. No other serious injuries were reported on the scene, and the ejected driver was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries. This incident is likely still under investigation.
