Over the weekend, a woman was injured in a crash that happened just off of Highway 166 near Santa Maria. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the vehicle went over a cliff, just east of Tepusquet Canyon Road. The car went about 150 feet down the side of the road. The vehicle landed upside down, and first responders had to extricate the injured woman from the wreckage. She was brought back up to the roadway using a system of ropes and a Stokes basket.

She was rushed to Marian Regional Medical Center for the treatment of injuries. A portion of the roadway was blocked as crews and emergency responders worked the scene. There has been no word on the cause of the crash, or on the woman’s current condition. Thankfully, her injuries were not described as life threatening
