Injury Crash on I-805 Leaves Dogs Stranded

On Tuesday, three dogs were stranded after their owner was injured in a car crash on Interstate 805. According to NBC San Diego News Channel Seven, the wreck happened sometime around 10:30 p.m. Apparently, the driver of a Mercedes C230 ran into the back of a tractor trailer in a southbound lane of I 805, near Sorrento Valley Road.

The driver was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries. The man was traveling with three dogs at the time of the crash, and none of them appeared to be injured. Officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) remained on the scene with the dogs until San Diego County Animal Services arrived.

Although the cause of the crash is still under investigation, a blood test was administered to the dogs’ owner to see if he was driving under the influence.
