On Thursday night, a car hit a man mowing his lawn in Chula Vista. According to NBC Channel Seven San Diego News, the incident happened on Fifth Avenue. Both the victim who was mowing his lawn and the driver were transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Apparently, the driver of a Ford Focus lost control of his vehicle and struck an electrical box. The out-of-control car crashed through a fence and struck the man who was mowing his lawn.

At this time, law enforcement officers suspect the driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash. That person had to be extricated from the car by firefighters. Very few details have been released, and we do not know the extent of injuries involved or either person’s current condition. A portion of Fifth Avenue had to be closed as first responders worked the scene.
