On Monday morning, a motorist had to be rescued after his vehicle plunged 50 feet off of the roadway beside Highway 154. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened sometime before 10:55 a.m., in the 1900 block of 154, near Windy Gap. For currently unknown reasons, the pickup truck crashed down the cliff beside the roadway. First responders had to rig a rope system to bring the driver back up the cliff. He reportedly suffered from minor injuries.

Very few details about this crash have been released, but we do know that the driver, a man in his 50’s, was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of injuries. The cause of this crash is still under investigation with the California Highway Patrol.
