Last week, there was a motorcycle crash on Highway 101 in Santa Barbara. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened near Salinas Street at about 11:40 a.m. Very few details have been released about this motorcycle wreck, but we do know that first responders found the rider lying face down in the middle of the freeway when they arrived on the scene.

Initial reports indicate that the motorcyclist apparently hit the side mirror of another vehicle and lost control of the bike. He was rushed to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of injuries ranging from minor to moderate. First responders on the scene reported that his helmet sustained a significant amount of damage in the crash. This wreck is likely still under investigation with the California Highway Patrol.
