Last week, a motorhome caught fire on Highway 101 in Santa Barbara. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened near the Hope Avenue off-ramp. Initial reports indicate that the motorhome was experiencing some type of mechanical issue prior to the fire. The driver pulled off of the highway, and moments later, the engine was smoking. The RV quickly burst into flames.

Thankfully, the two people inside of the motorhome were able to escape without injury. First responders rushed to the scene, where California Highway Patrol officers had to block traffic on the off-ramp as firefighters fought the blaze. The fire destroyed the RV, and crews had to clear the debris and wreckage left behind. There has been no word on the cause of the fire or mechanical problem. This incident could still be under investigation.
