Multiple Crashes in Gaviota During Rainy Weather

Over the weekend, there were multiple crashes in the Gaviota area during inclement weather. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, there were at least four crashes in the Gaviota area of Highway 101 on Sunday evening. Initial reports indicate that all of these collisions happened between about 5:15 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., while it was raining. Although very few details have been released about these individual crashes, we know that at least one person suffered from serious injuries.

The most serious crash reportedly happened just before 6:00 p.m. near the Nojoqui Grade, close to the Highway 1 turnoff. At this time, there has been no word on whether or not any drivers are facing citations associated with driving too fast for conditions or any other types of citations. Some of these wrecks may still be under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
