A man in a wheelchair was fatally injured after being hit by a vehicle in Oakland. The accident occurred at 5:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of 40th street and Adeline Street. According to The East Bay Times, “the driver of the car stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. Police shut down 40th Street between Adeline and Linden streets to investigate.” The man was not in the crosswalk when the car hit him. He died at the scene, and his name has yet to be announced as authorities must notify the family.
