According to ABC Channel 10 News, Mark Buczek and his two-year-old chocolate Labrador Bailey were out for a walk when they were struck by a white van in their neighborhood. Mark suffered from broken legs, a head injury and every rib in his body being broken and Bailey’s back was broke.

They’re both in wheelchairs now, but expected to walk again. Mark credits his life to Bailey, whose cries alerted people nearby. Law enforcement officers are still looking for the 1997-2007 model Ford E series van with right front damage.
