One-Car Injury Crash Near Goleta

Last Friday, a driver was injured in a one-car crash near Goleta. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened on the 5200 block of Shoreline Drive, just before 8:00 p.m. For currently unknown reasons, the driver lost control of his Audi A4, and it crashed into a grove of trees. First responders were swiftly on the scene, where they found the injured driver.

The car was lodged so deep in the grove, that it took firefighters 45 minutes with chainsaws to remove it. Although very few details have been released, witnesses report that there was a cap and gown in the car, and the driver may have been involved in the graduation at UCSB. There is no word on the driver’s current condition, but his injuries were initially described as minor. The cause of this crash is still under investigation with authorities.
