On Monday afternoon, a portion of Northbound Highway 1 had to be shut down due to an overturned box truck. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the wreck happened near Santa Lucia Canyon Road at about 1:40 p.m. Very few details about this crash have been released, but initial reports indicate that the truck driver tried to move over into the left lane to pass slower traffic when he noticed another vehicle was already in the lane.
The truck driver reportedly tried to swerve back into his lane but lost control of the truck. The truck went through the center divider guardrail and overturned in the northbound lanes. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported in this crash. Traffic had to be diverted as crews and first responders worked the scene.
