Overturned Cement Truck on I-5

Earlier this week, a cement truck overturned on I-5 in Mission Bay. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the truck crash happened on Wednesday night, at about 10:45 p.m. in the southbound lanes, near Clairemont Drive. Initial reports indicate that a vehicle hit the back of the cement truck. The large truck then started to veer off of the interstate before it overturned and struck a tree.

Bystanders on the scene were able to help the truck driver out of the wrecked truck. A hazardous materials crew was called to the scene due to diesel fuel that was spilled. The truck driver was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment. This truck crash is likely still under investigation by local law enforcement officials.
