On Tuesday afternoon, a pedestrian was critically injured in Montecito. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Butterfly Lane, near Channel Drive, at about 4:00 p.m. Very little information has been released about this incident, but we do know that a white Chevrolet Impala being pursued by law enforcement officers struck the woman. She was walking with two friends at the time of the crash. They were able to jump out of the way of the vehicle.

After the collision, the Impala was driven into a wall on the opposite side of the street. The driver fled the scene on foot. The injured pedestrian was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of major injuries. There has been no word on her condition, and the investigation is ongoing.
