Early Tuesday morning, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Point Loma. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Rosecrans Street at Voltaire Street, sometime after 12:30 a.m. Very few details about this wreck have been released, but we do know that the pedestrian was believed to be a man in his 20s or 30s. Initial reports indicate that he was in the crosswalk when a Toyota sedan struck him. He was dragged several feet, and the Toyota driver left the scene after the crash.
The driver later called 911 and reported the incident about an hour and a half after the collision. She was not arrested but could face felony hit-and-run charges. The identity of the pedestrian has not been released yet, and this incident is likely still under investigation by local law enforcement officials.
