Pedestrian Injured in Santa Maria

On Friday night, a pedestrian was struck and injured by a car in Santa Maria. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened near Sonya Lane and Western Avenue, sometime after 9:00 p.m. The jogger was apparently out for a run at the time of the collision, and got struck by the car as it was making a turn. The driver did remain on the scene to cooperate with authorities.

The jogger did have to be treated for injuries. Thankfully, those injuries were initially described as minor. Although very few details have been released about this incident, we do know that law enforcement officers with the Santa Maria Police Department were on the scene investigating. No information has been released on whether or not the driver was cited.
