Pedestrian Killed by Big Rig

On Tuesday, a female pedestrian was struck and killed by a big rig in Santa Maria. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened in the 1200 block of West Cook Street, just before noon. The large westbound truck was hauling double trailers at the time of the wreck. Very few details about this incident have been released, but we do know that the pedestrian was possibly walking north across the street at the time of the collision.

Investigators from local law enforcement, the California Highway Patrol’s commercial vehicle division and other crime scene technicians were on the scene for hours after the wreck. This incident is still under investigation by multiple agencies.
