Pedestrian Killed on I-5
Early Sunday morning, a pedestrian was killed on I-5. ABC Channel 10 News Reports that the victim was believed to have been between 25 and 35 years old, but his identity hasn’t been released. The pedestrian was allegedly struck by multiple vehicles on the interstate near Old Town.
According to officials with the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office and the California Highway Patrol, around 3:15 a.m., the victim was struck in the southbound lanes, just before the Old Town Avenue overcrossing. ABC Channel 10 News reports that the interstate in that area is over an elevated bridge and railroad tracks, and that there are very narrow shoulders. No information has been released on the cause of this tragic incident.
