Pickup Truck Hit by Train in Oceanside

On Monday, a pickup truck was struck by a Sprinter train in Oceanside. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, but the truck and train did sustain damage from the collision. According to Fox Channel Five News, the incident happened at around 3:30 p.m.

Apparently, the driver’s foot slipped off the brake at the railroad crossing at the 1100 block of Oceanside Boulevard. The Ford F-150 then rolled onto the tracks. Thankfully, the operator was able to stop the train. The F-150 sustained moderately serious damage and the light rail train had a few minor dents and scrapes. Fox Channel Five News reports that the crossing gates were down at the time of the crash and all bells and lights were activated.
