Pickup Truck Rolls Into SDPD Cruiser

Earlier this week, a pickup truck rolled backward into a San Diego Police Department (SDPD) cruiser after a pursuit through various residential areas. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Thursday, in the 9800 block of Aero Drive. Initial reports indicate that police officers were responding to a report of a man breaking into a parked vehicle and driving away. The subsequent car chase took police officers through Linda Vista, Clairemont, Kearny Mesa, and Tierrasanta

When police officers were finally able to get the truck to stop, the driver jumped out. With the engine still running, that person fled on foot. The truck was still in gear, and it rolled into an SDPD cruiser. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during the pursuit or when the vehicle rolled into the SDPD cruiser, and the suspect was apprehended and taken into custody.
