A San Diego police officer was involved in an accident on the Interstate 15 with a prisoner passenger. The police officer crashed into the center divide of the freeway and came to a stop near the University Avenue exit. Fox 5 News stated that the officer has a medical emergency which caused him to lose control of his vehicle. The passenger/prisoner was unhurt, however, when rescuers arrived on the scene, the police officer was unresponsive and but was later conscious.
