On Wednesday night, a suspected drunk driver was pulled over for speeding and driving recklessly. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the 29-year-old driver has had at least three prior convictions for DUI. At the time he was pulled over, he was driving on a suspended license and had an outstanding felony warrant. Law enforcement officers initially tried to pull the driver over for driving without headlights.

That quickly turned into a pursuit, and the driver then rear-ended a vehicle at the intersection of Blosser and Betteravia Roads. Additionally, he accelerated in reverse and slammed into a patrol car. He was detained and arrested on a charge of felony DUI causing injury. He was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.
