On Wednesday afternoon, an enraged driver rammed into a parking enforcement officer’s vehicle and injured that person. According to NBC San Diego News Channel Seven, the incident happened on Prospect Street near Eads Avenue in La Jolla. Initial reports indicate that a driver became enraged about getting a parking ticket, so he rammed into the parking enforcement officer’s small three-wheeled vehicle.

The Parking officer was inside of the vehicle when it flipped on its side, and he was trapped in it for a few minutes. The driver of the Saab, 42-year-old Peter Dreier, initially ran from the scene, but later returned to turn himself in. The parking officer was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries, and Dreier is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon. This altercation is still under investigation with law enforcement officials.
