Early Sunday morning, there were two separate injury-causing rollover crashes in Santa Barbara. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the first crash happened on the 1100 block of North Milpas Street, just before 2:00 a.m. A Ford Mustang convertible reportedly struck a parked vehicle and a motorcycle before rolling over. The driver of that vehicle fled the scene, and the passenger had to be extricated from the wreckage. That person was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of severe injuries.
Approximately 90 minutes later, there was a rollover crash at Hope Avenue and Calle Real involving a Subaru SUV. The Subaru reportedly took the Hope Avenue exit at a high rate of speed. The vehicle hit a K-rail, overturned and hit another vehicle. The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle and rushed to Cottage Hospital for treatment.
