On February 4th, two people were badly injured after they collided with a big rig on the Interstate 805 in San Diego. The California Highway Patrol stated two people were trapped when the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department arrived on the scene. KUSI News reported, “The big rig had come to rest on one of the cars after colliding with a second car.” The collision caused a fuel spill from one of the cars, and hazardous materials team cleaned up the area. The two trapped victims were immediately taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital and are expected to fully recover. Luckily this accident did not turn fatal. Due to the sheer size and weight of big rigs, most collisions with smaller vehicles result in serious injuries or fatalities.
