A cyclist was severely injured after colliding with a vehicle on Monday afternoon in Santa Rosa. The bicyclist was hit at the Santa Rosa and Colgan Avenue intersection. The cyclist was riding westbound on Santa Rosa Avenue and attempting to merge with the northbound lanes. The police told Cycling Weekly, The driver of the gold Toyota Corolla that struck Spurlock, 25-year-old Cody Austin Gibbs, also of Santa Rosa, was headed southbound on Santa Rosa Avenue when the incident occurred. The cyclist hit the front windshield of the car. The cyclist suffered severe head trauma.
