On Monday, there was a head-on injury crash in Santa Ynez. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the wreck happened in the 2100 block of North Refugio Road, sometime before 7:00 p.m. Very few details about this crash have been released, but we do know that the wreck also sparked a fire nearby. Initial reports indicate that one of the drivers involved sustained critical injuries, including a broken leg, shoulder and arm.

That person had to be airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment. The other driver was transported to Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital for treatment of injuries. At this time, there has been no word on the cause of the crash, which is likely still under investigation with the California Highway Patrol.
