School Crossing Guard Hit by Car
On Wednesday morning, a school crossing guard was struck by a car while helping children cross the street. The victim, an 84-year-old woman, was struck at about 7:45 a.m. on the 300 block of East Alamar Avenue near Calle Noguera. She was immediately taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of injuries.
According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, one of her ankles was broken, and she also sustained cuts and bruises. Although no citations were issued as of late Wednesday afternoon, the 73-year-old driver was found to be at fault due to failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian. The team at Harris Personal Injury Lawyers, Inc. wishes a speedy and full recovery to the injured crossing guard.
