Earlier this week, a semi truck struck a fire hydrant in Western Goleta. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened on Calle Real at Colusa Drive, just after 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening. The big rig was reportedly attempting to make a turn onto Colusa from Calle Real, when it hit the hydrant. The hydrant was knocked completely off its base, and a geyser was shot into the air.

A nearby produce market was flooded, and employees worked quickly to minimize the water damage. First responders rushed to the scene and were able to shut off the water in the area, so the hydrant could be repaired. At this time, there has been no word on whether or not the truck driver is facing any citations.
