Semi Truck Crash on Highway 101

On Tuesday morning, a semi truck jackknifed on Highway 101. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened near the Garden Street exit at about 7:20 a.m. All southbound lanes had to be closed and traffic was reportedly backed up past La Cumbre Road. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, but there was a fuel spill involved. The truck’s saddle tank sustained some damage in the wreck.

First responders and crews were quickly on the scene. Due to increased traffic, the tow truck was delayed to the scene. At this time, the cause of the crash is still under investigation with law enforcement authorities. There was heavy rain in the area at the time of the wreck.
