Semi Truck Crash on Highway 166

Last week, there was a crash involving a semi-truck on Highway 166. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened early Friday morning, east of Highway 101. Very little information about this truck crash has been released, but we do know that the big rig was hauling live chickens at the time of the wreck. For currently unknown reasons, the tractor-trailer overturned after a turn in the road.

An additional two semi-trucks reportedly made contact during the crash. Thankfully, no major injuries were reported on the scene. Crews did have to spend most of the day rounding up the loose chickens, and a portion of the roadway had to be closed. At this time, the truck crash is likely still under investigation with the California Highway Patrol.
