On Monday, a tractor-trailer caught fire and spread to nearby vegetation on Highway 101 near Buellton. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened in the northbound lanes, near Old Coast Highway at about 11:40 a.m. Very few details about this tractor-trailer fire have been released, but we do know that the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames. The truck fire quickly spread to nearby brush and caused damage to about an acre and a half of land.

Thankfully, first responders and firefighters were swiftly on the scene. There were no injuries reported on the scene, and a portion of the roadway was closed as crews worked. There has been no word on what caused the fire, and this incident is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
