On Thursday, there was a crash on State Route 76 involving two school buses and a U-Haul van. Very few details about this multi-vehicle crash have been released, but initial reports indicate that a church group was headed to Palomar when a bus hit a U-Haul van that was traveling through a roundabout. The U-Haul then hit the school bus in front of it.
According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, at least eight people were injured in the crash. Several people were also evaluated and treated for heat-related issues on the scene. There were four counselors and 31 students on one of the buses. A portion of SR-76, near Valley Center Road, had to be closed as first responders and crews worked the scene.
