On Wednesday night, two California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers were injured when a car involved in a high-speed chase hit them. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Loma Santa Fe Drive in the Solana Beach area, sometime after midnight. The CHP officers were reportedly trying to lay down spike strips as the vehicle crashed into them. Shots were fired during the incident.
The vehicle was found abandoned a few blocks away, and one of the CHP officers was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Thankfully, their injuries were described as non-life threatening. Law enforcement officials were able to apprehend the driver shortly after the incident. That person was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
