Suspicious Ignition Sources in San Diego Fires

All but one fire burning in San Diego have been linked to potentially suspicious ignition points. According to ABC Channel 10 News, CAL FIRE’s investigative team is examining evidence and speaking with witnesses to determine exactly how these devastating fires started. Channel 10 also reports that the fires don’t appear to have been started in traditional ways like sparks from lawn mowers or tossed cigarettes.

A landscaper’s video may give investigators a clue about how at least one Carlsbad fire started. On Wednesday, Governor Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency. Citizens with any information are being asked to contact San Diego Crime Stoppers at 619-235-TIPS (8477).
