SUV Crashes Into House in Otay Mesa

On Wednesday morning, an SUV crashed into a house in Otay Mesa. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Norstad Street, near Palm Avenue, at about 3:00 a.m. Very few details about this high-speed crash have been released, but we do know that the SUV hit a fire hydrant before crashing into the residential home. Initial reports indicate that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of it.

The SUV crashed into the dining room area of the house. Thankfully, the couple inside of the home was in another room at the time of the crash. The driver fled the scene on foot, but was quickly apprehended. She was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Water from the damaged fire hydrant also soaked the front of the house before crews could shut if off.
