On Sunday night, a tanker truck crashed on Highway 1 near Orcutt. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened just after 8:00 p.m. near Solomon Road. Very little information has been released about this truck crash, but initial reports indicate that the tanker truck overturned in the roadway. In spite of overturning, the fully loaded oil tank was reportedly not leaking. Authorities did investigate a possible leak from the large truck though.

A portion of the roadway had to be closed as crews and first responders worked the scene. There was at least one report of an injury associated with the crash. The roadway didn’t reopen for another three hours, and the cause of this crash could still be under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
