Teen Killed in Highway 101 Crash

Over the weekend, a 16-year-old boy from Oxnard was killed in a crash on Highway 101. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened on southbound Highway 101 at Cat Canyon Road. Very few details about this fatal crash have been released, but we do know that an 11-year-old girl was also injured in the crash. Initial reports indicate that one vehicle accelerated onto the highway and into the path of another vehicle.

The teen was in the rear left passenger seat at the time of the crash. There has been no word on whether or not he was buckled up at the time of the wreck. At this time, drugs and alcohol have reportedly been ruled out as factors. Additionally, no information has been released on the cause of the crash, which is likely still under investigation with the California Highway Patrol.
