On election night, a Trump protester was hit in Oakland by an SUV. The protests began around midnight between Telegraph Avenue through Highway 24. When the protesters had entered Highway 24, a Honda Element hit one of them. The driver of the Honda Element pulled over and her car was immediately vandalized by these protesters. The East Bay Times declared the protesters broke the car’s back window, before officers stabilized the scene, the CHP said. The CHP shut down the highway for approximately 20 minutes. The same group of protesters had also thrown rocks and shattered a window at the Oakland Tribune office at 20th Broadway and had also set random dumpsters on fire. The protester who was hit suffered major injuries and was immediately hospitalized.
